Yes, also, it's a little different this year as kids are trying to catch up after distance learning last year. My 3rd grader typically gets 3s and 4s but has gotten 2 2's (both in writing) this year for the first time and it's because she basically did no writing in 2nd grade after learning about Google's dictation service and doing all of her writing online. She's got a LOT of catching up to do in writing. Her teacher flagged in Q1 and we got a tutor. A 2 should definitely warrant at least an email to the teacher.[/quote]

Teachers do keep in mind distance learning from last year. Not all kids are behind or getting 2s.

I think a lot of parents don't realize how badly schools have slipped, and how, even more, things were falling apart while online education was prevalent. And it's not like the schools were willing to admit to parents that online was kind of sucky and that the parents should be spending a lot more time on their kids education, calling in tutors, etc. There was a lot of rah-rah instead. Grades were coming back OK, you're busy, you trust the system. Whoops! [/quote]
