LMS does't get the "best" as its not a audition in.  Its kids who enjoy it and want to be around like minded kids with more options.  Some will go on but many will pick other careers.  Mine loves the arts but probably will not do it as a career, but fun.

The advantage is you get 8 classes, not 7 and more preforming arts options.

Its a good school, has accelerated math, great principal, but otherwise its no different than any other school.

Yes - the Sligo band and orchestra are very good.  My DS got in to Loiderman but chose Sligo.  He did band all three years, plus stage, which he really enjoyed. Going to our home school was the right choice for him since his friends tended to be in our general neighborhood which made getting together socially much easier.  Plus the commute up Georgia Ave would have gotten old real fast.[/quote]

Georgia isn't bad as you are going reverse traffic.  But, Sligo has a good reputation for band.  Orchestra instructor at LMS is worth commuting for.  Same with a few other teachers at LMS depending on what your child wants.  [/quote]
