Hospitals are held liable when patients get infections while in the hospital. They are also liable when patients fall and get injured while in their care. The second one happened to a family member after surgery. Post-recovery, they were wheeled to their room and asked to stand & walk to transfer from one bed to another. They fell in the process and broke a bone. They received a very generous settlement from the hospital. [/quote]
