It just seems so unnatural to me...the idea of having people we don't know that well spend more waking hours with our little ones than we do. My kids were in daycare and I've been working full-time since they were infants - and I agree with you.  It still makes me sad that they spent their infancy and early childhood in the care of others while I worked.  I did what I had to do (I make 3x what DH does) but it never felt good.  At the time, I mostly blocked those feelings.

My kids are now 14 and 11 and I work part-time, mostly from home.  I savor every moment with them and may never work full-time again.[/quote]
