IT sounds like OP is creating a stressful situation for her daughter and she has learned to bend over backward to keep mommy calm and happy. OP needs to relax big time. If and only if it really bothers her daughter then she can coach her daughter to say " Grandma, I like it better when you call me X".[/quote] But daughter has to bring it up. Child has specifically said this is OK. Coaching a kid who bends over backwards to please people to do something that they have said they don't want to do isn't the answer. But since the kid has expressed a request to only use it at home, OP and her DH can start there. If they slip and use it when other people can hear, then maybe it will give them empathy for grandma.[/quote]
