[/quote] As far as I can tell, the ramifications of this global pandemic were that politicians were either a) feckless or b) craven and decided that it wasn't worth their political capital to keep kids in school, and that kids (and mothers) could absorb all the burden and also allow them to retain the support of major donors[/quote]
