The UC schools get more low-income and very poor applicants because the population reflects that. That's why their Pell Grant numbers are high. Virginia's is not because the average income per capita is higher. So long as USN&WR is going to reward number of Pell grant students, etc., the UC schools will go up on the rankings but I wouldn't want my kid there. - Californian[/quote]
