Wake Forest grad here who went to the game on Saturday v. West Point. Seemed like any big school football game I've experienced, except that a helicopter fly by rattles the stadium, the student body is all in uniforms (looking spiffy, if conformist), a parachute team does a dazzling display pre-game and at half-time, push ups are done by all (from head of school to cheerleaders to students) after every home team touchdown, and canon fire takes place throughout the game, bursting many a fans ear drums...
My child is there so I was at the game as well. Only Plebes are required to do push ups after each Army touch down. It’s not a typical College experience at all. It’s structure and regiment 90 percent of the time. And the only freedom they have is when they are allowed a pass to get off base. It’s a 47 month experience as they say. Summers are not free. They maybe have a few weeks off during summer. Your daughter can visit the academies for a week long summer camp during high school. My child didn’t so I can’t tell you when it is. I also got a lot of info from service academy forum
