The take away from that thread is what hurts Wilson kids is the amount of attention paid to struggling kids and the lack of counselors to motivate and guide the high achieving kids.

My advice -with a Sophmore and Junior is to talk to a college counselor during their freshman year.  Insane, right?  But, they will provided guidance on what your kid needs to do based on their scores/transcripts/goals.   It gave me the motivation to fight hard for my kids to be put in the right AP Classes.  Or rather the motivation to get my kids to do it - which they do.  I figure they will be old pros at working the system by the time to get to college. [/quote]
