I rented a house in Mount Pleasant in early 90’s. One day while drinking my morning coffee I looked out the window into the alley and saw a guy (definitely not an AU student) helping himself to my car stereo. I grabbed a baseball bat and gave him some Jersey justice. He ran off but I called the police who caught him a few blocks away. The police said I was crazy for fighting back but admitted that the criminals all think we are all bunch of white collar wimps and if more people fought back there would be exponentially less crime. I now have a CCP and carry every day.
 A perp today will already have his gun out and pointed at you before you can even reach for your concealed gun, much less pull it out. Bonus for him: He can steal your gun too. One more gun on the streets. But at least you're showing us you're not a "white collar wimp"!
Have you ever studied martial arts? Have you ever had defensive firearm training? Do you know what situational awareness means? Are you aware that criminal attacks follow predictable patterns and involve predictable cues? Do you know what the OODA loop is? It is possible for an armed intended victim to defend themself against criminal assault.
you better be correct, or you're spending the rest of your life behind bars. There are no stand your ground laws here or shifting elements that make it easing to get away. If you are wrong, you are either a murderer or an attempted murderer
What are you talking about? The issue was whether a person facing a mortal threat and mortal danger from an armed kidnapper/robber could effectively use a firearm to defend themselves even though they would be reacting to a situation the criminal initiated. Self defense is not murder. People don’t get jailed for lawful self defense. As for “better be correct,” there is seldom any question when an armed kidnap/robbery is occurring. And the alternative of meek acquiescence while being rendered helpless is despicable.
