Pre-ECNL is not a league. Some clubs have Pre-ECNL for their top U12 team stating this team will eventually become the ECNL team for U13.
BRYC is re- labeling their 07B academy team as pre-ECNL. Kinda weird that they would have a U15 ECNL and U15 PRE- ECNL. Can anyone explain the thinking behind this?
This is interesting. Maybe BRYC is using the PRE-ECNL label for the team that will play in the ECNL-R league. If so they should just name it the BRYC ECNL-R Team so it would like BRYC 07B ECNL, BRYC 07B ECNL-R, BRYC 07B Blue (3rd team) or would this make too much sense?
OMG with all the ECNL-R crap on the site lately. Somebody is new to this. "Pre ECNL" has traditionally been used two ways. 1. To label a U11 or U12 A team in a ECNL club. 2. It has also been further extended to U13 and older ECNL club B teams. The ECNL-R designation should replace "Pre-ECNL" as a B team designator. The first designation for younger age groups is really the only proper and sensible use for it.
But BRYC already has an ECNL U15 team, and their other u15 team is labeled pre doesn't make sense to be a pre at u15
Um, look at the bolded. Does it make sense? No, but this is how clubs use the letters E C N L to make something seem like more than it is. Parents believe it. Just look at the uptick in ECNL-R discussion lately, as if it is a thing. US Club soccer literally just changed the name from NPL to ECNL-R and BOOOM! parents suddenly believe their kids are really in ECNL or worse. It was literally not much more than a branding exercise and now people are acting like they are in a national level league. It won't surprise me to see clubs extend the brand down to "pre -ECNL-R" soon.
