I prefer Paulina or Polly. I know some women named Paula who are great and have good associations. But it just doesn’t sound right fit a baby, sorry. It makes me think of Paula Pell, who is glorious and hilarious, but sort of the opposite of a baby? Not a bad name, just not right for a baby.
Luckily she’ll only be a baby for a year.
Some names should be retired from use. Bertha, Susan, Matha, Gertrude, Edith, Barbara, Sharon and Paula are all on that list.
You could not be more wrong. Names are just in or out of fashion - nothing more. Our daughter’s will name their daughter’s Susan, Barbara, Sharon, Paula in droves. They will be the most popular names of our granddaughters generation. Just look at name trends over the decades. Our Sophias will have little Barbies and Susies.
