I know some women named Paula who are great and have good associations. But it just doesn’t sound right fit a baby, sorry. It makes me think of Paula Pell, who is glorious and hilarious, but sort of the opposite of a baby? Not a bad name, just not right for a baby.
Anonymous wrote:Paula comes from my generation, I did not like the name then and still don’t today, It’s an (unpopular) man’s name adding an “a” to make it a girls name. I get that names make comebacks, but some never will - I’ll put Paula in that category but Susan or Helen are not.

Luckily she’ll only be a baby for a year.![]()
Some names should be retired from use. Bertha, Susan, Matha, Gertrude, Edith, Barbara, Sharon and Paula are all on that list.

I love the name Sharon! It’s my deceased mother’s name.
I hate when people try to use that (deceased loved one) as a reason to love a name.. My beloved grandmother's name was Helen. I hate that name despite loving the person who had the name.
