Have all the players train and play in Europe. Better yet if they had dual US citizenship and grew up there. That’s how the Men are starting to reverse course
This assumes of course that we can't right our own domestic league ship.
The women in Europe are subsidized by them men. The MLS has neither the means nor the desire to do so
MLS is at best a third tier league when compared to Europe. There is no way they could keep their own house in order and then subsidize NWSL.
The NBA subsidizes the WNBA and haven't been sued yet
Totally. I didn't understand that comment either. Of course, the NBA has boatloads of money and chooses to subsidize the WNBA because it's good for business AND I sincerely believe the individuals involved want the WNBA to exist. MLS? The may want the USWNT to succeed but they don't have the money nor unified leadership to do much about it.
The NBA is the global standard for basketball (no one overseas care at all about MLS; top tLent in their prime do not aspire be in MLS) so you cannot even compare soccer in America to basketball. What attracts talent is money. Like you said MLS lacks the cash and drawing power for top talent (coaches, trainers, managers, and players). The US women will be competitive on an international stage for years to come but the playing field is leveling and without the cash and the evolved developmental system we should consider the glory days done.
