I have two girls, 12 and 14. They always use a lanyard and have been for like a year now.
Yeah, my 10 and 12 year old girls use lanyards and think they are useful. Between this thread and some of the comments on the "what backpack to get" thread, I wonder if my kids are just oblivious to people judging "coolness" or if that just isn't a big deal with the kids they hang out with.
Mine are oblivious too, PP. I consider that to be a good quality.
NP. It’s good to a degree but help out your kid. A 10 yo is very different than a 14 yo. It’s okay for a parent to nudge the 12 and 14 yo to ease off the lanyards before school starts. This isn’t about style or coolness. A lanyard on anyone who doesn’t have a severe disability or medical condition at this age is ridiculous.
Aside from style/coolness, why is it ridiculous to use a lanyard if you will be in a situation where you will be putting on and removing your face mask multiple times throughout the day? I'm honestly asking, because as an adult I have used one and find it useful. I think sticking a used mask in my pocket and pulling it back out multiple times is more annoying and feels less sanitary. I understand if other people don't feel the same way, but I'm surprised you think it's a ridiculous choice -- can you explain?
