Yeah, my 10 and 12 year old girls use lanyards and think they are useful.
Between this thread and some of the comments on the "what backpack to get" thread, I wonder if my kids are just oblivious to people judging "coolness" or if that just isn't a big deal with the kids they hang out with.
Mine are oblivious too, PP. I consider that to be a good quality.

NP. It’s good to a degree but help out your kid. A 10 yo is very different than a 14 yo. It’s okay for a parent to nudge the 12 and 14 yo to ease off the lanyards before school starts. This isn’t about style or coolness. A lanyard on anyone who doesn’t have a severe disability or medical condition at this age is ridiculous.
Aside from style/coolness, why is it ridiculous to use a lanyard if you will be in a situation where you will be putting on and removing your face mask multiple times throughout the day? I'm honestly asking, because as an adult I have used one and find it useful. I think sticking a used mask in my pocket and pulling it back out multiple times is more annoying and feels less sanitary. I understand if other people don't feel the same way, but I'm surprised you think it's a ridiculous choice -- can you explain?
