ABSOLUTELY!  It's almost a completely different sport at times.  Not always, but a lot of times I see HS value athleticism over soccer IQ (where to move with/without the ball/where to pass)/touch.  Dump and Run FTW!  If you're big and fast you are definitely favored in certain HS programs.  Bonus points if you have a little touch to collect the 50 yard dump ball your center back or goalie just sent down field!  GIT SUM!  Rubbin's Racin, B!t$es.[/quote]

It's more than just big and fast for the non-travel HS players. They have to be coachable and from the ones I've observed they often demonstrate an incredible work rate/endurance and will run through a brick wall to help their teammates--they are tremendous teammates and team players and generally aren't fazed by anyone or anything regardless of how talented the other person is. They take it on as a personal challenge, as a good teammate, to shut them down or outwork them etc.[/quote]
