"$400 wallet woman" here. :) I also really like some of Hobo's styles. I have a Hobo clutch that I love and use often, though I find they can run a bit more trendy rather than classic. To be honest, I'm not sure I would have ever spent that amount of money on myself for a wallet, but my husband (then-fiance) bought it for me as a birthday gift and I fell in love with the minimalist design and durability. I've also noticed a cultural difference - I'm European and, even in my broke younger years, I'd save up and buy one or two very nice items, rather than 10 less expensive items that might just sit around in my closet. My wardrobe is on the smaller side because I prefer to buy high quality items that I really love, and last over time. OP, let us know what you pick!
I've noticed this among my European friends too. They'll splurge on a couple of pairs of expensive shoes, for example. Then wear them all the time. I have friends who have so much cheap crap that they probably never wear it twice. I try to stick to fewer nicer things.
