Wallets get a lot of abuse, I wouldn't spend a lot on one.

This is the exact reason I DO spend more on my wallet and bags. I wear these items every day and need durability/quality. You can spend $400-$500 on a wallet that will last you years, or $50-$100 on a mediocre wallet that you'll have to replace after one year of use.

$400 to 500 on a wallet. Please tell me you are joking.

Yes, please let this be a joke.

Anonymous wrote:"$400 wallet woman" here. I also really like some of Hobo's styles. I have a Hobo clutch that I love and use often, though I find they can run a bit more trendy rather than classic. To be honest, I'm not sure I would have ever spent that amount of money on myself for a wallet, but my husband (then-fiance) bought it for me as a birthday gift and I fell in love with the minimalist design and durability. I've also noticed a cultural difference - I'm European and, even in my broke younger years, I'd save up and buy one or two very nice items, rather than 10 less expensive items that might just sit around in my closet. My wardrobe is on the smaller side because I prefer to buy high quality items that I really love, and last over time.

OP, let us know what you pick!

I've noticed this among my European friends too. They'll splurge on a couple of pairs of expensive shoes, for example. Then wear them all the time. I have friends who have so much cheap crap that they probably never wear it twice. I try to stick to fewer nicer things.

Oh, PP here, and I'm not snarking on the $400 wallet woman. If that's what she likes I have no problem with her buying it. I'd just never heard of a $400 wallet.

Like a pp, A $50-100 wallet would be an expensive wallet for me.

A certain improvement on my current 4 buck wallet from Wal-mart from my freshman year of college.

OP here. Thanks for the suggestions. In particular, I hadn't heard of Hobo before but it looks up my alley so I am leaning in that direction.

Toots, you do realize that "grow up" is thrown around by high school kids. I hear it each day/

doesn't do much to support your claim

New poster. This makes no sense whatsoever. If HS students say fuck you, are we supposed to stop with that too?

oh no - of course not!
