SYC and Alexandria only have MLS teams at the u13 and u14 age groups. The question is whether the 2007s will play MLS as u15s. In other words, is MLS only granting SYC and Alexandria two age groups (u13 and u14) or next year will it expand those clubs to three age groups (u13, u14 and u15). The former DA had clubs that did not have all age groups - Arlington and McLean were two such clubs. So is MLS going to handle like former DA?
Yep. You have been “asking this question” in one form or another on multiple threads for quite some time. We get it. Hello Arlington coach/parent. I don’t think these clubs think about it quite like the aforementioned thought of it - grasping for status, etc. and I think the parents and players understand that this is principally an opportunity to play against top notch competition U13-14 and potentially get more looks as a feeder to DCU. If it extends, great. If it doesn’t, I don’t think it really makes any difference. And if ECNL kids are good enough to make the cut, they are probably good enough to go back, and if they aren’t, what are they worried about anyway? (And of the club is vindictive about it, they are at the wrong place.)
