Did your kids remain in the 99th percentile or did they drop off over time? My DS is 99th percentile weight (29lbs) and 99th percentile height (33”) at one years old. He is by far the biggest 1 year old I have ever seen. I just wonder if this will stay the course or he will slowly drop off the highest percentile. DH is 5’10” and I am 5’7” but we have tall family members.
Not even close! Mine was 99th percentile height and weight until 2. Dropped off at pretty significantly at 3 and a little more at 4. At almost 11, he is in the 45th percentile for height and 30th for weight. We are similar height to you and your DH. Height percentile as stayed the same since age 4. He was in a higher weight percentile and that dropped more slowly up through age 8.
Similar here. Average sized baby turned enormous toddler, 97th percentile height and 80th weight. Started dropping at 3, enough that we were worried about endocrine issues and actually had him tested. Then he went back up a bit. At 7 he is pretty well settled in at around 60th percentile height and 40th weight. DH is 6' and I am 5'7". My younger kid started tiny and was a very thin toddler -- their baby pictures are so different -- but at 4 she has stretched out to 80th percentile height and 30th weight. They all seem to grow at different rates. Parental height is probably a better indicator of where they'll wind up than early growth. That was certainly true when I was a kid, at least. Some of the tallest kids stopped growing early, while some of the smaller ones kept growing. I was always 75th percentile height and my sister 25th percentile, but I stopped growing at 14 and she kept growing until 18, and as adults I'm only an inch taller than she is. (I am still taller though which is the important point!)
