I think that if you’re a sane person who cares about how your kids turn out it’s hard to imagine how some crazy some households are. My parents got divorced when I was in my twenties and after that my mom was married to a real loser for a few years (haven’t seen him since 2015 but I bet a million dollars he loves Trump and would not be at all surprised if I found out he and his family were at the Capitol on 1/6). I had to go to his son’s house for a family function once. The son had a few kids who looked like they hadn’t bathed or brushed their hair in quite a while. The house was a total dump. When the kids wanted a snack the mom literally threw crackers on the floor for them to eat. I kid you not. Oh and they had a pet snake that they would just let out of its enclosure whenever. It’s easy to be unaware of how some people live if you’ve never encountered it. The whole family was from PA... not sure what it is about that state. I know plenty of normal people from there but it seems to have its share of crazies too. [/quote]

Yes. I swear to God. And I could tell when it happened that it was a totally normal thing in their house. I hate calling people trashy but there is really no other word for this family. I hated my mom's ex the first time I met him and it was so frustrating that she did not see him and his family for what they were... losers and users. Her ex also had a daughter who was a single mom because the dad was in jail for drugs, and somehow my mom would end up always babysitting for the daughter so she could go on dates... including overnight dates. Like every time I called this kid was in the background. Apparently everyone in the family had told the daughter that the baby daddy was bad news when they first got together, and she chose to be stubborn and stay with him and obviously not prevent a pregnancy. Then she tried to be all "oh poor me I'm a single mom". My mom is a really nice person who will do anything for anyone and this family took complete advantage. There are so many other stories. I think at one point my mom became afraid this ex was going to kill her for her life insurance or something. She started sending me all this paperwork in the mail regarding her will and what she wanted done with various belongings... it was extremely concerning. Very glad she divorced him. [/quote]
