Only wonderkids should be playing up. If the kid can't make the A team (or make it and get serious playing time and be effective), they shouldn't be playing up. They will be able to get challenged appropriately in their own age group. I mean, come on!, most of these Clubs have 5-6 teams per age group, surely little Messi can find space to grow there. And, again, if he was a Pulisic, by all means---but when the kid is not effective in the upper age group--no need. Get the challenge scrimmaging and playing street soccer with others, or like a lot of other kids do---form winter indoor/futsal teams and play up in that environment.[/quote]
