Starbucks pumped flavors are 20 calories a pop. The white chocolate syrup is 60 calories a pump. So if you get four pumps of flavor in a drink, you are taking in between 80 and 240 calories, just for the flavoring. That's a candy bar.
Not really. I'm the OP, I ask for two shots of flavor, four is way too sweet. A grande non fat chai with two pumps of flavor is between 200-230 calories, and has a lot of calcium and a bit of protein. Better than a candy bar, and more satistying as it takes a while to bring. Also getting some benefits from the chai tea. Either way, it's figured into my daily calories. I typically get it as a midmorning or midafternoon snack to go along with fruit, and I don't get it every day. I'm at a healthy weight, eat healthy, and am active. Really, it's good to be aware of these things but most responsible adults will be okay.
230 calories is a wee bit shy of a snickers bar which also has 4 grams of protein. That is a lot for a single beverage.
Still not bad for a snack, and a lot less fat than a candy bar, and no trans fat, and ingredients you can recognize and pronounce. Nutrition is more than just calories.
What do you imagine is in syrup?
