My spouse and I have much better relationships with our children. We aren't abusive and understand how important it is that our kids grow up and fly on their own. We aren't addicted to control and know that is counterproductive to creating healthy grown ups. Like you, my inlaws did everything they could to hobble their children so they would never leave them and would always be dependent upon them. [/quote]
