It would appear the staff is enjoying indoor dining and gyms.
That’s total conjecture. Maybe they’re being infected by asymptomatic children that they’re forced to congregate with in a filthy unventilated room for 35 hours a week. It is beyond offensive that parents are angry and judgmental toward people who are risking their lives to work with their children “because this is killing our kids” as if children should be somehow isolated from this global suffering by the sacrifice of non-familial adults. Teachers in districts where schools are closed: push for them to stay that way. These parents won’t support you even after schools open, and will continue to push the narrative that you are destroying their children. These parents do not care about your safety, health, or family. Look out for yourself and YOUR children above all. You are replaceable at work.
No children. Clearly.
There you go. No concern for other people. Teachers, this won’t end once the buildings open. These parents won’t be grateful. I can confirm as a teacher who has been in person since September. Parents will continue raging and accuse you of sabotaging their children in different ways. On this thread you have parents speculating that teachers are wildly irresponsible and flouting pandemic precautions, putting their kids at risk. They’re blaming teachers for catching COVID after forcing them back into school buildings during the peak of the pandemic. Wild! Don’t risk your health for these parents, who won’t appreciate you no matter what you do.
