Exactly. I can't tell you how many people I see out around Arlington with no mask on.  I see kids on crowded playgrounds without masks and not being socially distant.  I see sports games and practices going on with no masking or social distance, and groups of parents standing around chatting close together with no masks on.  Are people in denial? We are in the middle of a frickin' pandemic, people.  It's so frustrating. Schools can't reopen when the community exhibits this type of behavior. The rates won't go down enough.

Well, private schools are open and kids are doing well.  At some point, we will need to move past the metrics of new cases and focus on how to co-exist with the virus for a while.  Hospitalization rates are low. Those who won’t accept the risk should continue with DL, but give the rest of us a chance.  [/quote]

As you can see it literally isn’t up to any of us. The districts know what they can do safely and what risk they’ll assume. It is ENTIRELY in their hands. Not those willing to give it a shot, not those wanting DL, not teachers who have to do whatever they decide [/quote]
