Because despite the fact the numbers keep going up, lots of Arlington parents are being idiots and pretending like the virus went away.
Exactly. I can't tell you how many people I see out around Arlington with no mask on. I see kids on crowded playgrounds without masks and not being socially distant. I see sports games and practices going on with no masking or social distance, and groups of parents standing around chatting close together with no masks on. Are people in denial? We are in the middle of a frickin' pandemic, people. It's so frustrating. Schools can't reopen when the community exhibits this type of behavior. The rates won't go down enough.
Well, private schools are open and kids are doing well. At some point, we will need to move past the metrics of new cases and focus on how to co-exist with the virus for a while. Hospitalization rates are low. Those who won’t accept the risk should continue with DL, but give the rest of us a chance.
Instead of comparing, go private? Can’t afford private? Too bad, so sad. I’m weary of hearing this complaint. Private is for profit. There is no way they’d close unless directed to.

Hey on a related note, if we are Level 3, have we missed the deadline to change our preference? I am hoping that that deadline has also been postponed with the other goalposts shifting, but I have long since lost track of whatever the date or stream of emails told me the deadline was. The most recent ones I can find don't say anything about Level 3.
Level 3 has not had their selection process open yet for the return this school year. You will have the chance to reselect when it is time.
