Any idea why Richmond is not participating while most other ECNL teams are? The distance does not seem to have been a problem for Beach or Legacy. Too bad they are absent as they would have been competitive in most age groups.
ECNL clubs are entered but I don't think it is their ECNL team. McLean has entered their green teams
It was MacLean's ECNL teams playing - no matter what they called the teams on the entry forms.
Nope. One state cup game directly conflicted with ECNL games so it's not possible for the boys to play 2 games at once. One the girls side I know they were all green teams. I have a DD at McLean and no ECNL teams entered state cup
Girls ECNL I believe are not permitted to play state cup. Boys ECNL is different. On the boys side the state cup games were on Saturday and the ECNL games on Sunday - arranged that way precisely so they did not conflict with each other. I'm an Arlington parent and we played the same McLean team two weekends in a row - once in ECNL and then in the state cup. It was most definitely exactly the same team we played with the same coach and the same kids. Many of the boys on the two teams know each other from having played together when younger and it is not possible that I am mistaken here. I have been reliably told that this was the case for two other age groups as well. It is possible that McLean might play its second team in the U18 age group (as Arlington is doing) and/or its first team in the U19s - but other than that these were MacLean's first teams.
