Defund the police only if you want to do it yourselves, otherwise zip your lip![/quote] How about sending a uniformed MPD social worker (partner might be the "standard" type of cop) who does the contact part of the assessment and then you drive the picked up homeless person over to DC social support intake where they do an identification, check up and determine which services the person qualifies for. By the way, I totally agree with you. The decund the police talk is nonsense. The why don't we have logical city services and additional "contact" type people within the police department is a question most DC residents have been asking for years. Including us SE residents.
