All of us are affected by our life experiences. For most black people of Thomas' age, skin color was a major influence on their life experiences. People came out of those experiences differently. Thomas was able to go to Yale and become a Supreme Court justice. Not every person in his situation was able to do so. I don't expect him to think and/or act exactly like the others -- nor do I expect all of them to act the same way either. [b]But[/b], I think it is sad that Thomas has chosen to turn his back on those in whose shoes he could so easily be.
