DC's elementary was one where few people go to CES because of distance. Almost all kids who got in were the ones who turned down CES in 3rd. DC's friend lives closer to CES. All the kids who got accepted went to the CES. So more opportunity to "shine" and be the top student.

Or your child may just happen to be in a class with a lot of high performers. This happened to my friend's child who is  99th percentile kid in a different grade. Just happened to have a genius type kid in the same grade so relatively speaking made every other kid look ordinary and I don't use that term lightly. [/quote]
