Is there something I'm not thinking of? Is this considered a Catholic name? I don't know why it would be but I'm feeling uncertain.
There is a Saint Julia, so I think that if a family is serious enough about their Catholic faith to want to be sure that their daughter has a saint's name, then it's a perfectly acceptable choice. On the other hand, I don't think it's Catholic in the sense that other faiths can't or don't use it. I think a Protestant or Buddhist or Atheist Julia would be equally fine. I'm pretty Catholic, and I have friends with kids named Sean Francis, Mary Agnes, and Theresa Brighid. Those would be examples of names where I would be surprised to find out that the kid wasn't Catholic.
