That is the dumbest idea. Kids who qualify for AAP this year deserve to get those services. The question is, where do they take the CogAT? I’ll sign up ASAP.[/quote]no one is talking about THIS school year. They are talking about the rising second graders(taking Cogat) and rising 1st graders taking NNAT THIS year. The county will most likely have to delay these tests until NEXT year as you can not take them online at home. This AAP May be delayed a grade level AFTER this year. So this years second graders may start in 4th and who knows and possibly this years 1st grade start in 4th. It will be very hard for teachers to get a good grasp on children’s natural abilities with DL[/quote]

Even if they don't have the opportunity to take the CogAT, it won't really matter that much.  The equity report showed that the GBRS is by far the most important factor in eligibility.  They will probably pull in the first grade teacher for GBRS if the 2nd grade teacher doesn't have enough info on your child from DL.  Rising 2nd graders will still have the NNAT scores, also.
