Uh, no. At our school, 3rd grade is heavily into PBL I don’t want my kid in that crap at all!
At least at our AAP center, they talk up how social science and science are learned through PBLs in AAP...

SOLs for this year have been cancelled. The AAP applications/admissions process for rising third graders will absolutely still occur.
Good. Because I want my child in AAP starting in third. This BS about not being able to start in third is nonsense. FCPS decided on DL, not me. Now they need to figure out a way to have kids take the CogAT and still be apply to AAP.
How do you know that your child will get into AAP? This is weirdly demanding...
Agree, everyone should read the thread on this years Appeals. Admissions were all over the place this year. Several with high Cogat denied. They are revamping TJ and AAP.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:We were told last night by our principal that a decision about this year’s NNAT and CogAT will be coming sometime in late September so, if administered, the tests will be done later than usual. So this years second graders may start in 4th and who knows and possibly this years 1st grade start in 4th. That is the dumbest idea. Kids who qualify for AAP this year deserve to get those services. The question is, where do they take the CogAT? I’ll sign up ASAP.
You’re misunderstanding me. Kids who qualify this year (rising 2nd graders) deserve to start full time AAP in third grade. They shouldn’t have to wait a full year. I want my child to start AAP in third.
