Many years ago when Dh and I were first married, we bought a home in a brand new neighborhood. Each house was separated by a fence that sound like OP's situation; the fences were the dividing line and neither neighbor "owned" the fence. Neither side of the fence was 'pretty" or "ugly" they were both the same.[/quote]
