OK, but you men don't realize what a PIA it is to take care of long hair, and the literal weight that comes off your head when you cut it shorter. OP is not getting a bob.  A bit past shoulder length is fine.

I have a lot of hair, and yes, DH likes my long hair, but when it's longer, more of it falls out, and there's hair everywhere. Plus, it takes me longer to wash/dry it. When I cut it to shoulder length, I can literally feel the difference in the weight, which makes me feel better. Even my tween DD recently cut her hair really short, and she noticed the difference in weight.

I like my DH to have a bit of longer hair, but he gets really hot when his hair grows out, so he cuts it super short.   He is the one who has to deal with how uncomfortable it makes him, so I don't "pout" when he cuts it super short.[/quote]
