Of course her DD might 1) but know what her friends are up to or 2) not be sharing with her mom. However, given that 40% of American teens graduate high school as virgins, her claim is not outlandish. I do think the peer group matters and if your friends are having sex, there is a better than average chance you aren’t having sex either.  [/quote]

How do you know?  I had friends in high school that were very sexually active with hook ups, ones that had sex only with boy friends, ones who hadn’t yet and ones who were waiting for marriage. We all hung out and didn’t judge each other. We were all the “good kids” in honors classes and involved in sports. We certainly weren’t talking to our parents about what we were and weren’t doing.
