I feel like you, OP, but I’m still voting for Democrats. I’m uncomfortable with the rabid pro-choicers for sure, and kind of agnostic on illegal immigration. But for me, there’s one party that is ok with cutting taxes for the EXTREMELY wealthy while keeping taxes the same for everyone else, cutting all government services and public education, doesn’t see mass shootings as a crisis, and wants to keep people from voting through shady tactics, and one party that doesn’t want to do those things. So I know what party I’m voting for even if they don’t represent me 100% of the time.
I’m a PP and I also will continue to vote for Dems over GOP, but...not everyone will. And I will certainly speak out against the move to the left. We should remember that people vote with their pocketbooks.
What policies do you believe represent the Democrats' "move to the left?" I am just not seeing this. Instead, I see that the Republicans have moved very, very far to the right over the past several decades, and no one seems to complain. See their positions on the following: Abortion- pro-choice Republican used to be a thing Taxes- I don't even know what is going on here, Republicans used to care about the debt Regulation- Republicans didn't used to have an across the board get rid of regs position Environment and climate change- see above! Richard Nixon is the one who created the EPA, remember? Immigration- I know many people who are now American citizens because of Ronald Reagan's amnesty! Republican policies have become an incoherent mess, but Democrats are the ones moving to the left? Because there is a conversation about Medicare for all? What?
