It was a joke. The question the thread posed was how is your “99%”er doing if — OH NO — they were not admitted to the magnet middle schools. I joked that missing out on a magnet middle school ruined my 11-year-old’s life and he will never be the same again. That was sarcasm.

I have a very bright “CES” kid who went to a regular middle school and now thriving at a regular high school. Parents need to tone down their anxiety about this, for the sake of their kids.[/quote]

Nobody expressed anxiety.  Nobody expressed concern about not attending a Magnet MS.  There are many kids who were admitted to the Magnet MS but chose not to attend.

I took OP’s post at face value.  Just a question as to what to expect when her 5th Grader went to the home MS after the CES.
