Interior is trying to move all of USGS out to Colorado. They are in Reston now... but that's another one. I think this is all political.... the political appointees are looking to get patted on the head for reducing government and the Republicans tell the receiving states -- look! See what we did for you? Jobs!... now vote for GOP! They are slashing the size of government by moving agencies without any gov-based logic/reason. I wish the Va. delegation would get on board and block this move to CO.
Colorado would actually be a pretty freaking fantastic upgrade from Reston. I wonder if USGS is hiring.
Amen!
LOL Maybe it will. But it probably won't. They aren't moving to Denver. They're moving to Grand Junction. A 'city' of 50,000 people. Ever driven all the way down to Charlottesville for a staycation? Now imagine twice the distance and that's Grand Junction. Denver is a 4-hour drive away. So is Salt Lake City. Nice views though!
