It’s a manufactured crisis. Just resume business-as-usual at legal points of entry (take their claim, get them in front of judge/case workers, make an administrative decision) and you’ll see the illegal crossings go down.

Because it doesn’t address legit cases where someone may be running for their life from a gang or corrupt government. 
Plus, passing such a law will just give Trump a convenient excuse to keep the ports of entry closed to asylum seekers. I would not pass it either, since Trump does not act in good faith or follow thru on his deals. [/quote]
