I don’t know. I can kind of understand where they are coming from. Homosexual marriage is not recognized by the Catholic Church. So according to the church, this teacher is living with and sleeping with someone outside of wedlock and discussing it with the students. If it was an unmarried heterosexual teacher living with a partner and talking about it with the kids, they would sure as shit be fired. And if this teacher was unmarried or just kept it to himself, it probably would continue to be ignored.
Maybe I missed something, but it's not at all clear from the article that the teacher discussed his marriage with his students. It sounds like someone found out about it (hard to keep one's marriage totally private, after all) and made an issue of it. I doubt they are prepared to fire all the unmarried but sexually active teachers, or the teachers who use artificial birth control, or the teachers who violate some other aspect of Catholic teachings.
It looks like he put it up on Facebook. I feel pretty certain that they are prepared to fire all of the teachers who are posting about their birth control and sexual activity on Facebook.
