Maybe I missed something, but it's not at all clear from the article that the teacher discussed his marriage with his students.  It sounds like someone found out about it (hard to keep one's marriage totally private, after all) and made an issue of it.

I doubt they are prepared to fire all the unmarried but sexually active teachers, or the teachers who use artificial birth control, or the teachers who violate some other aspect of Catholic teachings.  [/quote]

I feel pretty certain that they are prepared to fire all of the teachers who are posting about their birth control and sexual activity on Facebook.
