There are a lot of different ones. You’ll want something different for a newborn vs a 4 mo old or 1 year old. You’ll want something different in the summer vs winter (like oh gods, no moby between April and October! And also the least usable long term). And your kid will have a possibly STRONG opinion on their favorite. Check out some different types, buy a bunch used from a consignment sale or borrow some and see what works for you. Here’s a good starter guide: https://bwi.mystagingwebsite.com/what-is-babywearing/choosing-a-baby-carrier/
Unless you have a Boba 4G, which works well for all of those ages. Babywearing in summer here is completely untenable, period.
I wore my dd in a Solly wrap every single day until she was about 13 months. It was great in the summer, totally breathable and lightweight. For people with bigger babies it would probably not be as comfortable by as early as 8-9 months but my daughter was only 20-30th percentile at a year so I had no problem wearing her in that wrap for a full year.
The wrap may be breathable, but when I had a warm newborn on my body, I sweat buckets. Maybe if we'd lived in Maine for the summer it would have worked, but not here. Then again, I sweat more than most people, so there's that.
