Babywearing in summer here is completely untenable, period.
I wore my dd in a Solly wrap every single day until she was about 13 months. It was great in the summer, totally breathable and lightweight. For people with bigger babies it would probably not be as comfortable by as early as 8-9 months but my daughter was only 20-30th percentile at a year so I had no problem wearing her in that wrap for a full year.
