Lillebaby mesh version for outside, ktan for inside (you and your partner will each need your own ktan if you are different sizes).

So I think the best criteria for “easiest” is if it’s the carrier most likely to be used by Dads. I’m my opinion, that’s not the “wraps”. It’s an Ergo, Tula, etc and their base model (plus infant insert depending on age).

Actually it is the easiest. It doesn't need an infant insert. It's for all stages including newborn, and all positions. It's ergobaby 360 omni. I have it and it's incredibly easy to use and convenient.

Solly and then the Stokke MyCarrier. It doesn’t seem to be a popular one but my husband and I both liked wearing it and found it easily adjustable.

Babywearing in summer here is completely untenable, period.

I wore my dd in a Solly wrap every single day until she was about 13 months. It was great in the summer, totally breathable and lightweight. For people with bigger babies it would probably not be as comfortable by as early as 8-9 months but my daughter was only 20-30th percentile at a year so I had no problem wearing her in that wrap for a full year.

The wrap may be breathable, but when I had a warm newborn on my body, I sweat buckets. Maybe if we'd lived in Maine for the summer it would have worked, but not here. Then again, I sweat more than most people, so there's that.

There's a new ergo 360 omni that doesn't require an infant insert and is mesh. haven't tried it yet, but solves the insert problem and hopefully helps with the summer heat.

I loved the k'tan for early days until about 6 months and when the babies just needed a hand-free cuddle at home when they were older. Switched to the Ergo for commuting and walks at about 6 months. I had an infant insert for the Ergo but it was just too hot for the summer months.
