Now she is five, and he's no longer our nanny, but he is and will always be part of our lives. He would lay down his life for our kid. He's more present in her life than some of our extended family members (sad to say, but true). He'll be there at her wedding.

All this to say: are there male predators in schools? Yes. Is every male in a school a predator? No.

If the rest of the school seems to be well-run -- the right safeguards in place, a vibe that tells you they're paying attention to the details and really know the kids well -- I would be totally okay with this. Trust your gut.
