Yes, this does sound like sour grapes. You have to be extremely talented to get recruited by Stanford for pretty much any sport, and you also don't get to that level without putting in huge amounts of time.  There are far more bright, well rounded kids with perfect stats than there are smart kids who have extraordinary talents, including athletic ones. [/quote]
