One time my DC had a bad fall.  I was extremely grateful DC  was wearing a helmet at the time.

Ice skating is extremely dangerous and it boggles my mind that it seems to be the only sport that doesn't prioritize safety.

As I was finding links, I stumbled onto this one about the dangers of spinning.  It never occurred to me spinning had inherent dangers. 
 Clearly, a helmet wouldn't protect against this.
