But that point for me is not where they are leaving the house in shorts and a sweatshirt to stand at the school bus stop in a surburban community and wait a few minutes for the school bus. They aren't going to die of hypothermia under these conditions, or even get frostbite. My 15 year old DID leave the house improperly dressed once last winter, and the bus was quite late. As he put it when he came home that evening, rather sheepishly, "I learned my lesson!" Much better than me nagging him all the time about what he is wearing. I don't want to send a child off to college who hasn't learned to dress himself and needs Mommy to check him over and be sure he made the "best" choices.[/quote]
