Because you weren’t challenged. If you were challenged, they’d ask for ID. If you could provide it, they’d let you vote regularly. If not, you would get a provisional. I don’t get why you care so much?  They are told to tell people ID isn’t necessary.  Rifling through your stuff may take too long and hold up a line.

If she doesn't need to see it she doesn't need to see it. Forcing it upon her was aggressive on your part so perhaps she was worried about your demeanor. You sound like you were trying to make a scene and that could be scary for a volunteer.[/quote]
